Adult sentence sought in shooting death
On Friday, a courtroom full of people heard from the Crown prosecutor that an adult sentence will be sought for the teen boy accused in the shooting death of a well-known volunteer in Prince Albert.
Late on Thursday, police confirmed that the body found near a walking path in the Crescent Heights neighbourhood on Sunday was that of Marina Thorpe, 64.
Police also stated a teen boy, who can’t be identified under of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, has been charged with first-degree murder.
At least 20 family members and friends packed the courtroom in Prince Albert as the youth was escorted into the prisoner’s box.
