The Smoke Signals Progressive Jackpot has to pay out before it reaches $2 million, and for Yvonne Greenwald from Unity, the big win came about as close to that as it gets.

Greenwald became Saskatchewan’s newest millionaire on Wednesday after winning $1,924,070.69 at the Gold Eagle Casino in North Battleford.

The celebration continued as Greenwald was handed her winnings during an official cheque presentation at Gold Eagle Casino, joined by members of SIGA management.

“On behalf of SIGA’s board of directors, management and staff, I would like to congratulate Yvonne on her Smoke Signals jackpot win of more than $1.9 million,” said SIGA President and CEO Zane Hansen.

“We’re thrilled to present Yvonne her winnings at Gold Eagle Casino today,” added Gold Eagle Casino General Manager Kelly Atcheynum.

The win adds to a long-running streak for the Smoke Signals progressive, which has now paid out $80,256,637.88 in jackpot prizes. After Greenwald’s big moment, the jackpot has been reset to $1 million and could be won again at any time.

Smoke Signals is a SIGA-wide progressive jackpot linking 51 slot machines across all seven SIGA casinos. It features three mystery jackpot tiers that grow over time, with the largest starting at $1 million and guaranteed to pay out before hitting $2 million. Every time someone plays a Smoke Signals machine, any one of the jackpots could be triggered.
