No boat? No problem: Electric surfboards set to make waves in Saskatchewan lake country
A new kind of thrilling surf ride is heading to northern Saskatchewan waters this summer and it doesn’t require a boat or a tank of gas.
An Emma Lake entrepreneur is bringing Torque Electric Surfboards to Canada, introducing a high-performance experience that promises to shake up the lake life across the region.
“Electric surfboards are relatively new and very cool. They allow you to surf on a lake without fuel, without owning a boat, without a crew; you can just head out on your own and cruise around the lake,” said Jason Zawerucka.
That independence is a big part of the appeal. Riders can simply step onto the board and go—no towing, no waiting, no coordination required.
