P.A. homeowner wakes up to break and enter, gunshot

Police are investigating after a homeowner woke up to broken glass and a gunshot in their home.

Prince Albert RCMP and the Prince Albert Police Service were dispatched to the break and enter in progress at a residence east of Prince Albert around 1 a.m. this morning. Police gave no further specifics on where this incident took place.

The homeowner told officers they heard the gunshot after investigating the broken glass noise that woke them up. They were not injured in the incident.

The individual or individuals responsible fled from the area on foot. Police say at this time the perpetrators are unknown and there are no descriptions available.

Members of the local detachment along with the Prince Albert Forensic Identification Section continue to investigate.
