Former Raider Parenteau signs PTO with Marlies

On Tuesday, former Prince Albert Raiders goaltender Rylan Parenteau signed a professional tryout deal with the Toronto Marlies, the AHL-affiliate of the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Parenteau just completed his fourth season with the University of New Brunswick REDS, where he’s played since 2017. The REDS went to the USports Men’s Hockey Championships but fell 2-1 in the quarterfinals to the Ryerson Rams.

Parenteau played in 53 career games for the REDS since 2017 and finished with a 46-5 record with a .913 save percentage and 1.73 goals-against average. Parenteau was 14-1 this past season with a .938 save percentage and 1.31 goals-against average.

Parenteau was drafted by the Raiders in the third round of the 2011 WHL Bantam Draft and played 103 games with the Raiders from 2012-17. Parenteau played 55 games with the Raiders in 2015-16, recording a 25-17-6 record, a .913 save percentage, and 2.82 goals-against average. Parenteau was traded at the beginning of the 2016-17 season to the Tri-City Americans.
