Stolen RCMP gear recovered, two men charged
Two men alleged to have broken into a hotel room in Prince Albert and stolen a number of items belonging to an RCMP officer, have been located and arrested.
The men, ages 30 and 42, now face a number of charges.
At approximately 1:43 a.m. on Sept. 2, police received a report of a break and enter at the hotel in the 300 block of 38th Street West. An RCMP member reported that a firearm and other police equipment had been stolen from a hotel room.
Through the course of the investigation, Crime Reduction Team members identified a male suspect and located him at a residence in the 900 block of 2nd Street East. The event was deemed high risk, categorized as a critical incident, and specialized resources were called to assist. They deployed to manage the incident, resulting in a controlled surround-and-call-out.
