Team Sask. continues collecting golds
Day four at the Western Canada Summer Games is coming to a close and Team Saskatchewan is still raking-in the medals.
On Tuesday, they added 32 new medals to their team tally, for a total of 102 (47 bronze, 36 silver and 19 gold). Team Sask. now sits 3rd overall, behind Alberta and British Columbia.
Local Prince Albert athlete Katelyn Lehner added another gold medal to her total. She finished first in the Heptathlon. In that event, a competitor’s final score is based on their standings after seven separate events.
Lehner also has gold medal in the hurdles event and a silver medal for long jump.
