Raiders WHL Prospects Draft tracker

The 2026 WHL Prospects Draft has officially come and gone, and the Prince Albert Raiders have added 10 new players into the organization this year.

Director of Player Personnel Bruno Zarillo was in Prince Albert during the draft, and despite having to wait all the way until the third round for their first selection, he’s happy with what the team has brought in this year.

“I think with the Americans being added to our draft, I think it was very beneficial for us. There were players available that wouldn’t have normally been available when we picked, so I’m very, very happy with what we ended up with.”

American born players from certain U.S. states were added into this year’s Prospects Draft, rather than having a seperate U.S. Priority Draft. As a result, the Raiders selected two players from Alaska, Nolan Scott and Brooks Carlson, and Minnesota native Alexander Boldt. The two players in Alaska are both players Zarillo and his scouting staff have had eyes on.

“I saw them in Phoenix, and then they came to Canada for a tournament, and then there’s a friend I played pro hockey with in Europe who knows the coaches and the team. So I gave him some names of the guys I liked, and then they filled in the deails for me. So some of it’s through contacts, some of it you want to see them live, and we were able to do that in two events.”

The team did not have a pick during the first two rounds of the draft. Their first pick came in Round 3, with #60.

Round 3, Pick 60: Caleb Mozell

With their first pick in the 2026 WHL Bantam Draft, the Prince Albert Raiders have selected Caleb Mozell from the Saskatoon Outlaws U15 AA. From Saskatoon, the left handed forward stands at 5’9 and is listed at 141 lbs.

Mozell put up 8G-19A-27 points this year in just 13 games of AA this year. He was also called up for one game of U18 AAA this year with the Saskatoon Blazers. The year prior, he posted 13G-22A-35P in 24 games as a 13-year-old.

As the first pick the Raiders had in their draft, Mozell was the kid they wanted for that pick from the start of the draft. Despite battling an injury this year, Zarillo said there is a lot to be excited about with him.

“Very excited, he had a good year as an underage last year in Saskatoon, was one of the top underage players in U15 hockey, and then this year he had an injury, and then trying to get back in with an injury is a little bit tough. But I think what we saw was enough to make me feel comfortable, and I think there’s a lot of upside with the player.”

Round 3, Pick 68: Noah Carignan

With just their second pick in this year’s draft, the Raiders have selected Langley, B.C. product Noah Carignan. A left shot forward, Carignan stands at 5’4, 125lbs.

In his second year at the U15 AAA level in the BC Elite Hockey League, Carignan lead both his Fraser Valley Thunderbirds and the entire league. with 31G-47A-78P. Leading the league in points, goals, assists, and being named to the BECHL All Star Team, he was also the BCEHL U15 Player of the Year.

While a bit small still at only 5’4, Zarillo said that his skill level is already undeniable.

“Very, very happy to have him. I only see him trending in the right direction, it’s just a matter of time and being a little patient. I think we’ll be very happy when he gets here.”

Round 4, Pick 85: Sam Brenner

From Lanigan, Saskatchewan, the Raiders used their first pick of the fourth round to select forward Sam Brenner. Listed at 5’8, 150 lbs, Brenner has spent the last two seasons playing AA for the U15 Humboldt Broncos.

In just 27 games last year, Brenner put up 28G-39A-67P, good enough to lead the Broncos in scoring and sit tied for sixth in the Saskatchewan AA Hockey League scoring.

Round 4, Pick 90: Nolan Scott

With their second pick in round four, the Raiders have selected Anchorage, Alaska born defenceman Nolan Scott out of Team Alaska 14U AAA. Scott is listed at 5’11, and 155lbs.

Mostly playing tournament hockey with Team Alaska, Scott played 39 games this year, and as a defenceman posted 15G-12A-27P.

Round 5, Pick 114: Logan Chang

With their only pick of the fifth round, the Raiders have selected defenceman Logan Chang out of the Burnaby Winter Club U15 Prep team. Playing in the Canadian Sport School Hockey League (CSSHL Prep), Chang is listed 5’8 and 150 lbs.

Boldt played this last year in the Minnesota High Performance 14U League with the Minnesota Loons, where he posted 9G-15A-24P in 12 games this year. He also spent five games with St. Thomas Academy in the U.S. High School Hockey program this year.

Round 8, Pick 183: James Tucker

Listed at 5’10 and 152lbs, the chatter around the Raiders scouts room was that eighth round pick James Tucker is already way bigger than his listed height. Playing for the top ranked team in the USA Hockey 14U AAA rankings, Shattuck St. Mary’s, Tucker is from Eden Prairie, Minnesota.

The right handed defenceman played a total of 57 games last year, posting 2G-23A-25P.

His father is former NBA shooting guard (Kelvin) Trent Tucker with the New York Knicks, San Antonio Spurs, and won an NBA Championship with the Chicago Bulls in his final year of his career in 1993.

Round 10, Pick 229: Brooks Carlson

The Raiders went back to the Team Alaska 14U AAA program with their tenth round pick, selecting 5’9, 155lbs left handed forward Brooks Carlson. A team mate of fourth round pick Nolan Scott, Carlson is also from Anchorage, Alaska.

With 35 games played last year, Carlson posted 26G-30A-56P, and he finished the season with a five game point streak, posting 7G-4A in those five games.

  • Round 11, Pick 252: Kai Anderson

With their final selection of the 2026 WHL Prospects Draft, the Raiders have selected right handed forward Kai Anderson from St. Albert, Alberta. A 2009 born forward, he was drafted in 2024 by the Seattle Thunderbirds before being released this season.

Richards played the 2025 season in the CSSHL Prep league with OHA Edmonton, but came back to the Alberta Elite Hockey League with his hometown St. Albert Raiders U18 AAA. Last season, he posted 14G-20A-34P in 35 games. He’s also an AEHL U15 AAA champion with the Raiders in 2024.

The Raiders have decided not to use their last four picks from rounds 12-15.
