Prince Albert Minor Football adapting to new challenges after lower registration
The Prince Albert River Riders are without a team for the first time in over 20 years.
That’s according to the Prince Albert Minor Football Association (PAMFA) as lower than normal registration numbers forced some changes to their competitive season.
PAMFA president Taras Kachkowski said that this season marks the first time in over 20 years that the city does not have a team competing in the Kinsmen Football League (KFL) out of Saskatoon in either the peewee or bantam divisions, including both nine- and 12-man football.
“We’ve had to kind of restructure things a little bit. We’ve combined [the peewees and bantams] into one team and then let the Grade 9’s go to their respective high schools,” he explained.
