Prince Albert celebrates workplace safety week

This week, workers are being encouraged to think about safety at work no matter what it is they do.

The North American Occupational Safety and Health Week (NAOSH) aims to remind employees to be cautious and vigilant on the job and make it home safe at the end of every day.

Mayor Greg Dionne was present for a flag raising at Memorial Square on Monday to commemorate the week.

He said that he’s proud of this city and its hazard-free record.

Corey Johnson from NAOSH, said they will run an event on Thursday that will feature a lunch and informational booths.

He added that usually they run the event at the Kinsmen Arena, but they were hoping to open it up to a wider group of people and make it more accessible.

The informational BBQ runs from 11:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. at Memorial Square and it will cost $5.00 for lunch and a drink.
