2 Raiders, 2 Mintos and Bantam Raider move up in SaskFirst

Tons of local ties have been promoted to the SaskFirst U16 Fall Camp rosters and are one step away from playing in the Western Canada U-16 Challenge Cup.

Two of them are Prince Albert Raiders first round picks, as forwards Cole Fonstad (fifth) overall and Carson Miller (21st overall) both made the Top 26 fall roster, which was cut in half from the summer camp.

The Prince Albert Mintos have a couple of committed players make the grade as well in defenceman Layne Matechuk (Medicine Hat, second round, 40th overall) and goaltender Jake Davidson (Calgary Hitmen, fourth round, 77th overall). Davidson is now one of three goaltenders left on the fall roster.

The lone Prince Albert born player left in the SaskFirst program is pint-sized forward Owen Ozar. Despite going undrafted in the WHL Bantam Draft, Ozar averaged over a point for game with the Prince Albert Venice House Bantam Raiders, scoring 32 points in 31 games.
