Three teenage boys face charges after weekend break-ins

La Ronge RCMP now have three teenage boys in custody following a rash of break and enters that occurred on the weekend of Nov. 13.

As a result of the investigation, the La Ronge RCMP, with the assistance of the La Ronge General Investigation Section, were granted authority to enter a residence on the Fairchild Reservation, on the Lac La Ronge Reserve.

When police entered the home, stolen property was located inside.

Further investigation led to the execution of two more search warrants, one at another residence on the Fairchild Reserve and another residence on the 101 Reserve.

Police located stolen firearms, ammunition, cash, electronics, bicycles and other items.

A 13-year old boy from Hall Lake, a 15-year old boy from the Lac La Ronge Indian Band, and a 16-year old boy from the Lac La Ronge Indian Band are currently remanded into police custody.

They will appear at the La Ronge Provincial Court of Saskatchewan on Nov. 19.

Due to provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, the names of the youths cannot be released by police.

Because of this streak in break and enters, the La Ronge RCMP are asking people that had their homes broken into to ensure they report the incident.
