Charges laid in homicide at Saskatchewan Penitentiary

Two men have been charged with second degree murder following the death of Horace Bear at the Saskatchewan Penitentiary on April 21.  

Eugene Caisse, 26 and Britain Volk, 25, are both charged with one count of second degree murder.  

Charges have also been laid against other inmates who were involved in the altercation in the Maximum Security unit that preceded Bear’s death.  

Steven Smokeyday and Lauder Bear, both age 26, also face charges of aggravated assault.
