Nuna Training Technologies Ltd. (NTT) provides sustainable heavy equipment training that is designed to improve the work force. Their vision is to provide the right tools for individuals wishing to enter the industry and to put individuals on the right path to becoming a true professional operator.

“Individuals looking for a career change, individuals looking to improve their operator skills, employers, potential employers, we want this group of people to know that this service is available in Prince Albert,” said Bob Huculak, operations manager at Nuna Training Technologies in Prince Albert.

“We are totally flexible to the needs of the individual, the contractor or the client and we offer consistent training, that follows a scheduled format based on the recommendations of the original equipment manufacturer as well as the best practices in the industry.”

Nuna Training Technologies specializes in full-service powered mobile equipment simulators and field base training that is specific to the construction and mining industries. Training is provided as an on demand operation either on site, in the classroom or online.  The objective is to prepare and ensure all mobile equipment operators work with competency and confidence.

“Every employer and operator in the province has a legal and moral responsibility to ensure that people are competent in the tasks that they deliver,” said Huculak. “Some people see a competent person as someone that can move the most dirt the fastest but according to legislation competence is the ability to operate that machine in a safe manner.”

Equipment operator safety is the primary concern.

NTT is the largest private owner of powered mobile simulators in Canada and they offer the most current technology available from distinguished equipment manufactures including Caterpillar, John Deer and Volvo.

“We provide training that is current to industry expectations and up to date with new advancements in heavy equipment,” said Huculak. “It is the newest technology and it’s proven technology.”

Nuna Training Technologies uses training that is modeled after Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) standards and operator safety is considered to be of the upmost importance. They understand each time you put someone in the seat of a machine for the first time, everyone is at risk. NTT decreases risk on the job by developing worker’s skills and familiarizing them with tasks through the use of simulators and professional training development.

Nuna Training Technologies is owned by Nuna Logistics Limited, a 100 percent Canadian company. All primary training operations are run out of the Prince Albert office on 5th Ave. E.

Training is available on demand at the training center in Prince Albert, on the job site or online. NTT has built a reputation for providing quality training to work sites. In the past NTT instructors provided training from the high arctic to Goose Bay, N.L., Logan Lake, B.C., Baffinland, Nunavut and as far south as the Mojave Desert.

Priority Industrial Training will also soon be available online on Nuna’s website.

“This is what we do, this is what we are experts in, it’s not a sideline,” said Huculak. “We have been in Prince Albert for over 10 years and we give individuals the ability to choose what they want to do and how far they want to go.”
