Whitehead murder case back to square one after judge releases lone person charged
A man who was accused of being an accessory to murder after the fact is being released from jail, following a judge’s decision there was insufficient evidence to commit him to trial.
Kyle Crain’s preliminary inquiry hearing wrapped up Friday morning at Prince Albert Provincial Court.
In July, 2022, he was arrested and charged in the death of 23-year-old Drexlyr Whitehead.
On June 20, 2021, at approximately 2 pm, police were called to the 1900 block of 14th Street West for a weapons complaint. On arrival, police located Whitehead in the street, and he was soon after declared deceased.
