Man faces gun charges following foot chase by cops

Mar 30, 2023 | 5:13 PM

A man wanted for attempted murder has been arrested by Prince Albert Police’s Crime Reduction Team after short foot chase.

CRT members arrested Germain Michel, 31, yesterday on the 2800 Block of Dunn Drive and added multiple gun related charges to the others he is facing.

He was arrested about 2:30 p.m. yesterday after allegedly running from police on foot.

Michel was wanted on a charge of attempted murder from Dec. 27 of last year.

Police say that in the subsequent investigation, they found a live round of ammunition and a load .22 calibre rifle.

His new charges include resisting a police officer and breaching a court-order probation order.

Michel had outstanding warrant from Southend and Alberta as well.

Also arrested was Brianne Fineday, age 29 of Deschambault Lake. She was wanted on warrants from Nipawin and Deschambault Lake and now has another charge of breaching her court-ordered release.

In another matter, Fineday is to be tried on March 5, 2024 on charges that arose from a carjacking in the McDonald’s parking lot in Prince Albert last fall.

Those charges include robbery, having a banned weapon and possessing the proceeds of a crime.

Both are in custody and will be back in front of a judge tomorrow.
