Lake Country Co-op employees recently spread some love to those that need it the most in Prince Albert.

As part of the company’s “Give the Gift of Warmth” campaign donations were accepted from team members throughout all 19 Lake Country Co-op communities over a two-week period.

These items ranged from warm clothing to bedding and hygiene products.

“Our teams are so involved in their community, when we put on an initiative like this, they get excited. Kinistino is a great example of this. They donated two truckloads of items!” Brittney Rosenberg, director of marketing and community relations for Lake Country Co-op, said.

“Lake Country Co-op is all about enhancing the success and vibrancy of our communities and this is one way we accomplish that.”

The donated items were eventually given to the YWCA Prince Albert Stepping Stones Shelter.

“This large donation significantly expands our ability to provide warmth for those who need it most, during the most brutal winter months,” Donna Brooks, CEO of YWCA, said. “These large donations remind us that we are not alone in helping those experiencing homelessness.

The Stepping Stones Shelter offers overnight shelter and services for people in danger of spending the night out in the elements including on extremely cold nights as Prince Albert is experiencing this week.
