Agriculture Roundup for Tuesday May 31, 2022
MELFORT, Sask. — Agricultural Producers Association of Saskatchewan (APAS) wants the crop insurance deadline to be extended.
APAS has made the request to the federal and provincial Ministers of Agriculture.
President Ian Boxall said the weather has been the biggest factor behind the request.
“This has truly been a unique year for trying to grow a crop,” Boxall said. “There are some hard-hit areas in Saskatchewan that are really struggling to get going with their seeding due to too much moisture, when this time last year we were talking about it being far too dry.”
