Royals now in second place in SPBL AA standings
The Prince Albert Royals suffered their first big defeat of the season after falling 16-3 to the Saskatoon Athletics on Tuesday in SPBL U18 AA action.
The Royals were down 7-1 heading into the sixth inning before the Athletics completely shut the door, scoring nine runs in the top of the sixth inning at Andy Zwack Field.
The game was just two days after their Sunday doubleheader on the road in the Queen City against the Regina Pacers. The Royals split that series, falling 7-1 in the first game, before winning 7-3 in the second leg.
The Royals currently sit in second place in the U18 standings with a 9-3-1 record to start the year—which includes an eight-game winning streak. The Royals are just behind the Estevan Brewers (10-2) for first place.
