Province reports 129 new COVID-19 cases after lab experiences technical difficulties
There are 129 new COVID-19 cases to report in Saskatchewan bringing the provincial total to 3,536 on the eve of an indoor mask order for public places in Prince Albert, Regina, and Saskatoon.
The new cases are located in the Far North West (six), Far North East (one), North West (10), North Central (30), Saskatoon (55), Central West (one), Central East (four), Regina (13), South West (one), South Central (two) and South East (one) zones. Location information is pending for five new cases.
A previous case with a pending residence location from Nov. 3 was determined to be an out-of-province resident. The case was removed from the Saskatchewan total.
“The Roy Romanow Provincial Laboratory experienced technical difficulties Tuesday with the validation of COVID-19 tests, resulting in lower than expected case numbers reported yesterday (November 4),” the province said in a release to media. “Following the validation of these samples, nine positive results were identified. Due to the timing of the reporting of laboratory results, these nine cases will be counted in November 6 case numbers.”
