Raiders set to finish road swing in Regina and Moose Jaw

Oct 9, 2026 | 12:11 PM

The Prince Albert Raiders are at the halfway point of a four-game road swing, but they’ll stay in Saskatchewan as they look to get back in the win column. Things start on Friday in Regina against the Pats, and then Saturday the Raiders are in Moose Jaw to take on the Warriors.

The Raiders have lost their last two games, and only have one win in their last five. That’s brought them down to a record of 2-5-0 (wins-losses-overtime losses) with recent losses of 4-2 to Medicine Hat and 3-1 to Lethbridge. The Raiders’ last win came last Wednesday at home 4-1 over Red Deer, and the team is still looking for their first road win of the season.

Coming into the weekend, the Raiders have only made minor changes to their lineup with the official signings of Jordan Murray, Eli Molde, Malaki Martin, and most recently Darius Hordal. The Raiders have also released 20-year-old forward Carsyn Dyck this week.

Despite the most recent loss, the Raiders dominated in special teams against Medicine Hat going 2/3 on the powerplay and 3/3 on the penalty kill. The Raiders are ranked seventh in the league standings on the powerplay at 25 per cent, while the penalty kill is slowly climbing at 74.1 per cent.

Ben Harvey still sits at the top of the Raiders scoring race with 5G-4A-9P. Maddix McCagherty sits second with 1G-6A-7P, and Connor Howe sits third with 4G-2A-6P.

Scoring streaks:

  • Jonah Sivertson: three games, 1G-3A

While their streaks have been broken, Alisher Sarkenov and Ben Harvey all have three points in their last four games.

In goal, Michal Orsulak has a 0.889 save percentage coming into the weekend with a 3.26 goals against average and a record of 2-3-0. Steele Bass behind him has a record of 0-2-0 with a 3.02 and a 0.850.

Friday @ Regina

As for Regina, the Pats are coming in with a record of 2-2-1, good for second in the East Division. The Pats last played on Sunday when they picked up a 7-2 win over Calgary, but two days before that they won 5-1 over Edmonton.

This week, the Pats shored up their 20-year-old situation with a trade that sent 20-year-old defenceman Kolton Bridgeman to Prince George in favour of draft picks in 2030. That means the Pats are sticking with three 20-year-old forwards, Keets Fawcett, Zach Moore, and Ellis Mieyette.

This year, the Raiders and Pats have already met once, during the season opener in Prince Albert, and the Raiders picked up the 7-4 win.

The Pats are boasting the second-best power play in the league right now at 33.3 per cent. As for the penalty kill, they sit 10th in the league at 81 per cent.

Ellis Mieyette leads the Pats in scoring right now with 2G-6A-8P. That’s followed by the 16-year-old Liam Pue, and finally Keets Fawcett sits third with 4G-2A-6P.

Scoring streaks:

  • Liam Pue: five games, 4G-3A including a hat trick last game
  • Keets Fawcett: four games, 4G-2A
  • Zach Moore: three games, 1G-3A
  • Maddox Schultz: three games, 0G-3A

Ellis Mieyette has 2G-6A in the last five games.

In goal, the Pats have gone with Taylor Tabashniuk with a record of 2-0-1, a 0.889 save percentage, and a 2.63 goals against average. Drake Mooney on the other hand is 0-2-0 with a 0.795 and a 5.40.

Saturday @ Moose Jaw

As for Saturday’s matchup, the Moose Jaw Warriors are sitting 2-2-0 so far, most recently losing 5-2 at home against Red Deer last Saturday. They picked up a 3-1 win the weekend prior over Brandon. The Warriors will also play Friday night in Saskatoon before hosting the Raiders Saturday.

The Warriors have not made any changes to their roster since before the start of the season. That leaves them with just two 20-year-olds, Brady Ness on defence and Casey Brown up front.

This is the first meeting of seven on the season between the Raiders and Warriors. Last year, the Raiders went 6-0 against the Warriors, and outscored them 36-12 including an 11-0 beat down at the end of the season.

On the powerplay, the Warriors are tied with the Raiders at 25% through four games. On the penalty kill, the Warriors have the fourth best in the league at 85.7%.

There’s a three way tie at the top of the Warriors scoring to start the year. That’s between Gage Nagel with 3G-1A-4P, and Mathieu Lajoie and Landen McFadden who both have 1G-3A-4P.

Scoring streaks:

  • Luke Moroz: two games, 2G-0A
  • Riley Thorpe: two games, 1G-1A
  • Mathieu Lajoie: two games, 0G-2A

Finally in goal, the Warriors have started Jordan Switzer for three games, and he has a record of 1-2-0 along with a 0.865 save percentage and a 4.77 goals against average. Dylan Mingo has only played on game, but has a 1-0-0 record along with a 0.966 save percentage and a 1.00 goals against average.

On Friday, puck drops at 7:00 p.m. when the Raiders take on the Regina Pats. Then on Saturday, puck drops in Moose Jaw at 6:00 p.m. You can listen in to both games on 900 CKBI and Brandt Raider Radio.
