City reassures residents water discolouration is temporary

Responding to a flood of concerns raised on social media, the City of Prince Albert is reassuring residents discoloration of tap water is only temporary.

As reported on June 30, recent changes in the North Saskatchewan River have led to higher levels of naturally-occurring organic matter entering the water treatment process. This has caused some residents to experience brownish coloured water.

“At this time, there is no major update to report. River water quality remains similar to last week, and the Water Treatment Plant continues to operate within established parameters. Water leaving the plant continues to meet or exceed all water quality requirements set by the Water Security Agency,” the City said in a press release on Thursday.
