New RCMP detachment brings expanded safety and support services to Montreal Lake First Nation
Leaders in Montreal Lake Cree Nation (MLCN) believe a new RCMP detachment will bring more than a policing presence to the community, with benefits expected for public safety, emergency response and healing supports.
Chief Joyce McLeod said the new detachment reflects years of collaboration and investment aimed at improving services for residents.
“It’s a partnership which is very important with my community and also with the RCMP and also the provincial and the federal governments as well,” McLeod said. “It takes everybody to be involved in a project like this.”
