A concerned neighbor reported that a male, visibly injured and seeking assistance, had knocked on their door. Upon arrival, officers located the victim and discovered he had serious but non life threatening injuries.

The man was soon after transported by Parkland Ambulance to Victoria Hospital for treatment.

The subsequent investigation revealed the violent incident involved two males, one known to the victim, had entered the home of the victim armed with an edged weapon. The suspects then assaulted the victim, robbed his cash, and fled.

Roughly three hours later, one of the suspects was located in the 1000 block of 24th St. W; and during the arrest and lodging of the suspect, 13.2 grams of methamphetamine and additional evidence of drug trafficking were located.

Chaz Umpherville, 30, has been charged with a number of offences including robbery, intimidation of a Justice System Participant, aggravated assault, possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking, and possession of Canadian currency obtained by crime.

The second suspect remains at large. He is described as an Indigenous male, shorter than 5-10, with a tattoo on his cheek.

He was last seen wearing dark clothing and a black parka. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Prince Albert Police Service or Crime Stoppers.
