Environment Canada expecting heavy rainfall for eastern Saskatchewan

Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for a large area of eastern Saskatchewan ranging from as far south as Estevan and the Canada-U.S. border, all the way up north to Nipawin and just east of Prince Albert.

The statement is calling for rainfall between up to 30 to 50 mm of rain, with some localized showers set to drop between 50 to 100 mm that get hit with multiple thunderstorms.

The rain expected to start some time Sunday and continue through the night in Monday as it continues to roll through the province and into Manitoba.

The affected area includes the very southeast corner of the province, all the way up the Manitoba border to include Hudson Bay. The western border of the outlined area includes communities such as Nipawin, Melfort, and Birch Hills. Prince Albert is just outside of the covered area.
