Mar 12, 2023 | 6:48 PM

SASKATOON, SK – The Prince Albert Raiders put on a show at the SaskTel Centre on Sunday afternoon, steamrolling the Saskatoon Blades 8-1.

The win snaps a four-game skid for the Guys in Green while the game also closes out the season series with Saskatoon.

Keaton Sorensen led the scoresheet for the Raiders, netting two goals and an assist. Evan Herman, Sloan Stanick, and Carter Anderson all had one of each point in the game while Justice Christensen, Hayden Pakkala, and Harrison Lodewyk also found the back of the net. Terrell Goldsmith and Ryder Ritchie both had a pair of assists as Landon Kosior, Brayden Dube, Aiden Oiring, and Gabe Ludwig also potted assists.

Brandon Lisowsky had the lone goal and point for the Blades in the game.

Tikhon Chaika turned aside 32 shots from Saskatoon to help PA improve to 26-33-3-0 on the campaign.

Ethan Chadwick and Austin Elliott combined for 17 saves for the Blades where they now fall to 44-14-4-1 on the year.

COMPLETE BOX SCORE

Unlike last night, the Raiders opened the scoring midway through the first period with Ritchie feeding Sorensen in front to put PA up one.

Less than a minute later though and the Blades had an answer. Lisowsky fired one wide side that beat Chaika to tie it up.

Prince Albert kept on the gas and it paid off with captain Herman scoring his 14th of the season to put the Raiders back in front 2-1 after one.

The Green and Gold exploded offensively in the middle frame, hanging a trio of goals on the Blades.

The first came off a Ritchie shot which was blocked in front, thankfully Anderson was there to put home the loose puck to double the lead. Shortly after, Herman with the puck in close then dumped it off to Pakkala who taped it home to puck the PA lead to three. Christensen then got in on the scoring parade and converted with just 0.6 seconds to go in the period where the Raiders carried an insurmountable 5-1 advantage into the third.

Sorensen kept the party going in the third period for PA as just 90 seconds in, he scored his second of the night to make it an insurmountable 6-1 lead.

For good measure, Stanick and Lodewyk added one more each in the final frame to give PA the dominant 8-1 win.

The Raiders are back on home ice on Tuesday night when they play host to the Winnipeg ICE for the final time this year.
