The Stanley Cup is coming to P.A.

A Prince Albert Stanley Cup champion is bringing the Holy Grail of Hockey to the city he grew up in.

Just over a month after hoisting the cup with the Colorado Avalanche, P.A.’s Josh Manson will bring the cup to the city to give young hockey players the chance to see it up close.

“I’m really excited, obviously growing up in Prince Albert and playing my minor hockey here, it was important for me to give back to the minor hockey of the city and where I got my roots in hockey.”

The cup is in the city on Wednesday morning where teams with Prince Albert Minor Hockey will see the cup and have their picture taken with it.

Manson does want to make sure the rest of the city has a chance to see it when it’s on display.

“It will be there from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. If they’d like to come and be in the parking lot of Art Hauser Centre, they have the opportunity to see it as it’s on display.”

The teams with P.A. Minor Hockey will be having their turns with the cup in the same time window so Manson is asking that people do not come up to take pictures and spoil the hockey players’ moment.

Manson hopes this isn’t the first time he’ll bring the cup home as he recently signed a four-year contract with the team worth $4.5 million a season.
