Ag in Motion returns with 100-acre show near Langham

After a two-year hiatus in 2019 and 2020 thanks to COVID-19 restrictions, Ag in Motion is back in Saskatchewan.

Rob O’Connor, show director, said it feels great to be back in the 100-acre area just outside Langham.

“The show’s just as big as it was in 2019,” he shared. “It’s just like the show never stopped.”

O’Connor said it’s a relief to be up and running again, and exciting to be seeing their team come together — from Ontario, Quebec, Manitoba and Saskatchewan — after such a long time.

“It’s great to see everybody again, especially after two years,” O’Connor said.

To make the show more visitor-friendly, O’Connor said they’ve made some adjustments to parking. Rather than having their admission taken at their vehicle, he said showgoers will drive through their tire bath (an effort to reduce the spread of clubroot) before driving right into their parking space. They can then have their admission taken at the gate.

The show director is grateful to be seeing strong online sales already and is ready to see the show go live Tuesday and have people bustling across the farmland it happens on.

“We do this on a farm because we want farmers to see it in their own type of environment,” O’Connor explained.

“We put this show on because we want to be the place for farmers and their suppliers to come and discuss what’s new in the industry, what’s up and coming in the future of the industry and they can actually see it in the field.”

Visitors can take strolls down Irrigation Alley, Ag Tech Alley and Livestock Central over the next three days.

O’Connor also hopes people take in their trade show with its 543 vendors — the largest part of the event, showcasing exhibitors from all over Canada, North America and even some international companies.

Demonstrations, speakers and other events will fill the coming days, and O’Connor is very excited about the annual Field of STARS event that will work to raise $500,000 for STARS.
