As the search intensifies for Dylan Chretien, the people closest to him are speaking out in hopes their friend may see their words and return home.

Dylan Chretien, 30, was last seen in Prince Albert on Sunday, Oct. 27, but has not been heard from since. Earlier this week police said they had uncovered some new information in the case which led them to suspect foul play. Jesse Schroeder has known Dylan for 18 years and said he could not think of any reason why anyone would want to hurt his friend.

“He was the kindest person I ever met, and would do anything for friends and family,” he said.

Police have remained very tight lipped about their investigation, not even disclosing where Dylan originated from. Schroeder revealed to paNOW Dylan was from Lloydminster, and recalled many good memories with his friend djing and camping. The last time the two friends saw each other in person was over a year ago, and Schroeder said there were no signs his friend was in any sort of trouble.

“The last time we talked, my father was supposed to help him purchase a new vehicle,” he said.

Shawn Murphy, has known Dylan for almost 20 years, and said he has no idea what his friend was doing in Prince Albert.

“You hear so many different things,” he said. “I am not fully sure.”

Murphy said he and Dylan talked regularly, the last time being about a week before he went missing. When asked if there were any signs something may be wrong, Murphy said Dylan was the type of person who kept his feelings to himself.

“You know I talk to him all the time and pick at him when I do feel something is wrong but he won’t tell you anything, that’s just the type of guy he is,” Murphy explained.

Murphy recalled numerous good times with Dylan, including their trips to multiple raves in the Edmonton area. Murphy said his friend loved music and mechanics, constantly working on his truck.

“I’ve cried just about every day for two weeks, and it’s just like how many tears do you have left,” he said.

A Facebook group dedicated to the search for Dylan Chretien currently has over 400 members. Administrator Payten Desjardine is married to one of Dylan’s childhood best friends and told paNOW she and Dylan’s family appreciate all the support from people who are following case.

“We can’t thank everyone enough for their time, suggestions, and help during this difficult time,” she said.
