City hoping for high turnout at community meetings

Oct 9, 2019 | 10:59 AM

If you’ve got a question about police, roads, recreation or something else in the city of Prince Albert, bring it to one of two community meetings being hosted Wednesday and Thursday evening.

Upwards of 25 city staff, representing all departments, will be on hand to talk to residents.

“We don’t want to come across as unapproachable,” Director of Planning and Development Services, Craig Guidinger, told paNOW.

“This is a good opportunity to get us out and meet some of the constituents of Prince Albert and for them to meet us. Council members are there to help you but, in the end, often some of the answers that you get are from us and we want to make sure you have some faces for those names.”

The community meetings are also an opportunity for city staff to share information about current and future projects in an informal setting.

Wednesday’s meeting will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Princess Margaret School, while Thursday’s will run from the same time at Arthur Pechey School.

Guidinger is hoping for a good turn-out and encouraged the public to bring queries and concerns.

“Any questions you have there will be someone there that can answer them for you,” he said.
