P.A’s Blair Morgan back at the X Games

Feb 4, 2019 | 1:26 PM

One of the best snoCross racers of all time is back on the track.

Prince Albert’s Blair Morgan is one of the most decorated X Games athletes. An injury a decade ago left him paralyzed from the waist down, but Morgan has been working to get back to competitive racing, and competed last month at the newly-minted Adaptive and Para Snow BikeCross Race in Aspen, Colorado.

“The more I got to be out on the snow bike, I was getting more comfortable. My speed was getting better, by the time the final rolled around I felt I could be a top three guy,” Morgan said.

Morgan said the event gave him momentum and will use the bike to practice over the summer.

“I obviously raced snowmobiles for such a long time and raced dirt bikes during the summer and this is a bit of a crossover. It’s really new and exciting, it’s getting quite popular, it’s a lot of fun for sure,” he said.

After a long break, Morgan returned to the X Games in an exhibition event in 2018, the Adaptive Snow BikeCross.

This year Morgan will have the bike to practice over the summer.

The event helped to rejuvenate his motivation.

“I obviously raced snowmobiles for such a long time and raced dirt bikes during the summer and this is a bit of a crossover. It’s really new and exciting, it’s getting quite popular, it’s a lot of fun for sure,” he said.

Other than racing Morgan has spent the last several years mentoring the next generation of snoCross athletes.

“It’s been going really good. It’s kind of fun knowing that you had a bit of help getting those guys to where they are,” he said.

The Prince Albert racer said he’s very thankful to his family, supporters and his race team Rockstar OTSFF racing.
