Prince Albert saves the slides with boost from radiothon

Jun 5, 2015 | 5:05 PM

Community groups and Prince Albert’s radio stations joined forces in a radiothon to raise the funds needed to pay off upgrades at the Kinsmen Water Park on Friday.

Jim Pattison Broadcast Group stations Power 99, Mix 101 and 900 CKBI were all live on location to promote the final push to raise the money.

As of 5 p.m., they’d accomplished their goal, which sought to bring in between $70,000 and $80,000 to finish off Prince Albert’s “Save our Slides” campaign that started last summer.

To promote the fundraiser, a number of booths featured fun events outside the Kinsmen Arena. This included a dunk tank, treats and sno cones, an information booth on water safety from Red Cross and a food booth with free burgers from Mr. Mikes.
