3 adults arrested after Yorkton high school secured

Three people have been arrested after RCMP got called about a man possibly carrying a hand gun near a Yorkton high school.

The Yorkton Regional High School was placed in a “hold and secure” Thursday afternoon after officers got the call at about 12:20 p.m. The caller also reported the man was “wearing a shirt as a bandana and that his face might be covered”.

The Good Spirit School Division confirmed that the Yorkton Regional High School were secured as were all elementary schools in Yorkton as well as a school in Melville. Exterior doors of the schools were locked and classes continued as normal.  Students were able to move freely within the schools.

Not long after receiving the complaint, the RCMP found a man wearing a shirt as a bandana walking in the area of Darlington Street and Victoria Avenue in Yorkton. Also, another man and a woman were arrested at a home on 3rd Avenue.
