Apr 6, 2015 | 4:53 PM

Prince Albert Police are currently investigating a string of thefts that took place at Victoria Hospital on April 1.

According to reports, a person – or possibly multiple people – went through patients’ personal items and stole things like jewelry, cell phones and money.

This all happened while these patients were sleeping or awaiting medical procedures.

So far the investigation has led police to describe one suspect as a man who’s about six feet tall with a slim build, long dark hair and a dark complexion.

He was reportedly carrying a briefcase or large bag at the time of the thefts.

Prince Albert Police is asking anyone with information to call themselves or Crime Stoppers.

Ploy takes advantage of kindness to stranger

On Sunday Prince Albert Police were called to a residence where a stranger had preyed on a homeowner’s kindness.

Reports state that a man came to the door pretending to be hurt and needing to use the phone.

When the homeowner let the suspect in, he asked for a glass of water.

While the homeowner was in another room getting the water the suspect stole a jewelry box and took off.

The homeowner gave chase and was able to retrieve the jewelry box after the suspect dropped it while running away.

However the suspect was able to get away before police arrived.

He is described as aboriginal, tall, skinny with a big nose and he was wearing a backwards-facing hat at the time of the theft.

Police are reminding the public not to open your door if you are not comfortable answering when a stranger knocks.

If a person says they are hurt immediately call 911 or police. According to officials you are under no obligation to let them into your home.
