City removes all firepits from Kinsmen Park

May 25, 2026 | 2:42 PM

Following an internal review, the City of Prince Albert’s Parks and Recreation department has removed all of the fire pits in Kinsmen Park.

Parks manager Tim Yeaman said the change comes after an internal review completed last fall show that some of the fire pits had fallen into disrepair.

“The removal is part of ongoing efforts to improve cleanliness, safety, and overall enjoyment of the park space. While permanent fire pits are no longer available, park users may continue to enjoy outdoor cooking by bringing their own propane-powered barbecue, which remains a safe and appropriate option within the park,” he said in an email to paNOW.

The fire pits were taken out on May 18, 2026.
