Raiders Defeat Blades, Tie Series At Two

The Prince Albert Raiders defeated the Saskatoon Blades 5-2 Thursday night in Prince Albert and tie the best-of-seven series at two.

The Blades were first on the board Thursday night when they scored on the power play just over two minutes in the game. The next three though belonged to the Raiders. They came right back two minutes later when Todd Fiddler corralled his blocked shot and made no mistake on the second attempt to tie the game at one.

It was Fiddler again for the Raiders when he collected a loose puck off of a faceoff in the Blade zone and wired a wrist shot from the high slot past Steven Stanford to give the Raiders a 2-1 lead heading into the second.

The Raiders extended their lead to two in the second period when Igor Revenko redirected an Antoine Corbin point shot on the power play to get the Raiders up 3-1 going into the final frame.

Brayden Schenn cut the lead to one early in the third when he collected the puck behind the Raider and beat Jamie Tucker with the wrap around.

The Raiders regained their two goal lead midway through the final frame after TJ Constant picked up his first goal in a Raider uniform on a 2 on 1 play with Charles Well.

Mark McNeill added the final tally into the empty Blade net to cap off the 5-2 victory and tie the series at two heading to back to Saskatoon.

Jamie Tucker stopped 28 of 30 Blade shots to pick up his second consecutive win.

Game 5 of the series goes Saturday in Saskatoon and game 6 is back in Prince Albert on Sunday. Tickets for game 6 will go on sale at 9:00 AM Friday morning at the Raider box office or online at
