Racist remarks posted on fake Brayden Schenn Facebook page

Mar 31, 2011 | 4:18 PM

Saskatoon Blades have told all their players they must delete their Facebook accounts.

This comes after a facebook page for Blades’ star Brayden Schenn surfaced calling for First Nations peoples to leave Canada.

In a release, the hockey club denies Schenn having any association with the comments, or even the Facebook page itself.

It's believed someone has created a fake account under Schenn's name.

Schenn has released a statement of his own. He says would like to apologize to anyone who was hurt by the comments.

Blades’ coach Lorne Mollican said Schenn is disappointed anyone would attribute these hurtful comments to him.

“It’s a situation where it’s been very unfair for a young man, and we just want to focus on our task on hand,” said Mollican.

The Saskatoon Blades are asking police to investigate.

A spokesperson with the Prince Albert Raiders said they haven't looked into this issue. Right now, they are focusing on playing hockey.
