East Flat fire guts home

Fire crews responded to a blaze that began around 10 p.m. that gutted a home on Third Street East.

Crews say the fire appears to have started in a bedroom and spread to other parts of the home.

All occupants were believed to have been vacated from the building but at least one person was admitted to hospital with minor burns.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
