Woman charged in fatal hit and run makes a brief court appearance
A Prince Albert woman charged in a fatal hit and run made a short court appearance Wednesday.
Danielle Chamakese, 19, allegedly hit 21-year-old Daniel Carter with her car on Sept. 19 when leaving Stavros Lounge. Carter died from his injuries.
Chamakese's case has been adjourned until Dec. 1, which upset a friend of the Carter family, Jim Clark.
“We come to court to see something happen, at least to know what’s going on. The family has already lost a son, but they have to continue coming, and coming, and coming, and for what? They get nothing. They get nothing back. They protect her [Chamakese] more than they protect the family,” said Clark.
