Local Musician Releases EP – BLACK by LJ Tyson

Oct 3, 2014 | 9:05 AM

Time warped from the year 1994, pop artist LJ Tyson is bringing back what we loved about the nineties; fun and catchy pop songs.

LJ’s original music is inspired by personal life experiences including heartbreak. His songwriting echoes Gwen Stafani and her Tragic Kingdom. He also loves live performances and emulates the teenage nonsense of Billy Joe Armstrong during his Dookie days.

Couple with catchy lyrics, Tyson mixes fun guitar riffs and a unique voice that has a “you gotta hear it” quality that is a fresh new sound for listeners. The result is a mix that makes LJ’s future as a musician very exciting.

His most recent recording BLACK, is break-up song he wrote out of heartache.

“I have to be super honest about it because its a really honest song I didn’t want to write but felt I had to. The melody was stuck in my head and once I started playing guitar along with it the lyrics came all at once. I decided to record the song with local producer and owner of Mosaic Music, Rich McFarlane. He really helped me develop the track and got it to sound the way it does today. The song is for a limited time available for free download and will be included on my upcoming self titled EP.
