SIGA and Northern Lights Casino main sponsors of the 31st PAGC Fine Arts Festival

Saskatchewan Indian Gaming Authority (SIGA) Vice President of Corporate Affairs Pat Cook has attended the PAGC Fine Arts Festival several times over the course of her career and every time is blown away by the talent demonstrated by the youth.

“There is so much talent in the North, and seeing the artwork and dance on display by our youth was just so incredible,” said Cook. “SIGA and Northern Lights Casino were proud to come together to be the main sponsors for this fantastic festival. As a non-profit, SIGA reinvests 100 per cent of its net proceeds back into Saskatchewan.”

Now its 31^st year, the PAGC Fine Arts Festival, held from April 22-25 brought together over 1,500 youth from across 26 schools in Saskatchewan to the City of Prince Albert to have the opportunity to showcase their talents at the festival for a week of art, drama, dance, and literature.

“For more than 25 years, Northern Lights Casino has been a part of the local community and is proud to support the largest First Nations Fine Arts Festival in the province, encouraging youth to embrace their culture and to pursue their artistic talents,” said Northern Lights Casino General Manager Angela Isbister.

Festival Coordinator Shona Tretiak appreciates the long-time support and partnership with SIGA and Northern Lights Casino, which provides funding for the festival to happen.

“The partnership has meant a lot to us and SIGA has been there since pretty much its inception over 25 years ago. It’s really important to have partners like SIGA and Northern Lights Casino to be supporting your own community of kids to reach for the stars and having dreams and showing them that there is much more out there and its very important for the kids to have the opportunity to be able to express themselves,” said Tretiak.
