The field is officially set and soon Prince Albert will welcome some of the best players from the world of men’s softball.

On Wednesday, the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) confirmed the teams that will compete for a chance to advance to the Men’s Softball World Cup Finals in Prince Albert in 2025.

While the groups were first announced earlier this year, the final spots were confirmed after the completion of the Africa and Americas qualifiers.

The three group stages will compete this summer for a chance to make the final group for the 2025 championships.

Group A, which will play June 12-16 in Hermosillo, Mexico, will feature the defending world champions and top-ranked Australia, No. 5 and European champions Czechia, Venezuela, No. 9 Mexico, and the Dominican Republic.

Israel and Argentina have been drawn in Group B, with No. 3 Canada, No. 8 New Zealand, No. 11 Singapore and No. 24 Hong Kong, China. Group B will compete between July 10 and 14 in Prince Albert at Max Power Ball Fields at Prime Ministers Park.

Group C will be staged in Oklahoma City from Sept. 17-21, with No. 6 USA welcoming Asian champions and No. 2 Japan, Guatemala, South Africa, No. 17 Netherlands and Colombia.

The final schedules for the group competitions are still being finalized.

The top two teams from each group and two wild cards will advance to the World Championship Finals in Prince Albert.

In January 2023, the WBSC announced that Prince Albert would host a group stage and finals of the 2025 Men’s Softball World Cup.
