Sometimes celebrity women do some weird things to their faces and I feel sad.
I think of Daryl Hannah. Once the A List “It” break out star from the movie Splash, with Tom Hanks, she blew our minds with her natural perfection. Now, she looks (how do I say this politely?) altered; and not in a good way. And, yes, I feel sad.
These celebrity women do some simply brilliant things to their faces. I am happy. Here are some very simple bits of wisdom from some real knockouts.
"A woman is most beautiful when she smiles. Other than that, the most valuable tip I've learned is always use a skin moisturizer!" -Beyoncé
(My two cents – Select a moisturizer that’s right for your unique skin. What works splendidly for a famous celebrity might not be the best fit for your face.)
"A good eye cream is really important when you are traveling, busy and stressed-that's when the dark puffy circles can get you." -Kate Winslet
(My two cents – your concern might be dark puffy circles or it might be crowsfeet. Different eye cream ingredients target different problems. Do your research. If you don’t want to do the research, ask an experienced industry professional.)
"Don't go a full day or night without washing your face. You have to get all the dirt and makeup out of your pores." -Mary J. Blige
(My two cents – notice Mary J. didn’t say to ‘wipe’ your dirt and makeup off with a makeup wipe? I’ve made my point.)
"I use omega-3 oil. I love light oil on my skin. It's one of my favorite feelings in the world." -Gwyneth Paltrow
(My two cents – oil is the closest thing to skin sebum but different skin types respond best to different oils. Some oils are better for dry. Some are better for oily or normal. Ask your friendly neighborhood skinformation specialist.)
"Once I started drinking more water, my skin, hair and nails all flourished." -America Ferrera
(My two cents – we are made of water. Aim for 6 measuring cups of water a day, more if you exert yourself physically with exercise or manual labor.)
