Skin Care is for Dudes

Feb 22, 2017 | 6:03 PM

On CKBI AM radio this past Tuesday, Chris, Teena and I talked skin care tips for guys. Chris’ skin care tip was never to touch your face after eating Doritos. I had to agree.

But there’s more to it than that.

Guys’ faces age. They break out. They get irregular pigment and uneven skin tone. They get sun damage, or blackheads and big pores, or dry and sensitive skin.  The list goes on and on.

Just like never touching your face after eating Doritos (or Cheetos; Chris added them to his list), don’t use body products on your face.

If your skin is dry and you see a bottle that says body lotion, keep looking until you see something that says the word ‘face’ on the bottle. It might not be a perfect fit. Maybe your skin is sensitive and it’s a moisturizer for oily skin. But it’s a closer match than putting something that says it’s for body, on your face.

I’ve got all kinds of skin care advice for guys. If you have any concerns about facial redness, acne, aging, or sun damage, give me a call. I might be able to suggest some products you can use at home or some in office treatments.

Skin care: it’s for skin, not girls.
