Eat This for Great Skin and Hair

We are walking water. Our bodies are more water than anything else. 

What comes second to water in the body? Protein. The website www.nutritionexpress.com says “Next to water, protein is the most plentiful substance in your body. In fact, if all the water was squeezed out of you, half of your dry weight would be protein.”

Protein is comprised of amino acids. Amino acids are used by every cell in the human body, to repair and create new cells.

Hair is basically protein. Nails are pretty much protein. Your muscles and organs are made of protein. Skin is an organ. 

For your nicest skin and hair, eat protein every day, throughout the day. 

Here’s a problem: as we get older, we secrete less stomach acid. Protein becomes harder for us to digest so we tend to slowly turn away from it and consume more carbohydrates.

You can store carbohydrates in the body. It’s called body fat. However you can’t store protein.

And peanut butter just doesn’t cut it as a protein source. It’s more fat than protein.

If you don’t find meat, fish, poultry or eggs appealing to eat, try a digestive enzyme. Supplement your diet with a protein powder. There are so many different kinds and flavors, there’s no excuse for not using one. Keep exploring until you find a taste and texture you like. Add fruits you like, maybe some real maple syrup.You can make a protein drink that you’ll think is totally delicious. 

Regular consumption of protein is absolutely essential to your body’s health and great looking skin, hair and nails. Look better. Feel better.
