Pride Parade marches through the Queen City

Jun 18, 2011 | 4:58 PM

Hundreds of people turned out at Regina’s Pride Parade on Saturday to raise awareness and support the gay and lesbian community.

Mirtha Rivera is the parade organizer and says the day is used to remember the past, present and future.

“We want to remember all the people who opened ground for us, and we want to be available to all those people who are not sure, or just don’t feel safe enough,” said Rivera.

The Regina Pride Parade first walked in 1989.
