Raiders fever rising

Mar 16, 2018 | 5:00 PM

The Prince Albert Raiders have been on a huge roll these past few weeks, and that’s been good for business according to the team’s management.

Raiders Business Manager Mike Scissons said fan involvement with the club is up, ticket sales have been strong and Raiders merchandise has been in huge demand.

“We always like to see the hats and jerseys being worn around town,” he said.

In terms of what the hot sellers are, Scissons said it would definitely be jerseys and hats.

“Really anything that’s got a retro logo on it seems to fly out off the shelves here as well. People love the retro logo of our club so whenever we have the chance to put that on there, we do that,” he said.

Friday night the Raiders will host their long-time rivals the Saskatoon Blades. Scissons said he was expecting a near sell out at the Art Hauser Centre with standing room only. Many fans have turned to social media in recent weeks to find last minute tickets to the games.

“We like it when it’s hard to find a ticket in the market and we encourage people to get down to the rink early,” he said.

The puck drops at 7 p.m. Friday night. Anyone who has not yet bought a ticket is encouraged to call the Raiders box office.
