Online auction to boost annual P.A. Pyjama Party goal for Ronald McDonald Room

There’s an added twist to the 7th Annual Pyjama Party Fundraiser that was held over the weekend.

An online auction takes place for 24 hours starting at 4 p.m. today to help raise funds to buy a commercial dishwasher for the Ronald McDonald Room at the Victoria Union Hospital.

“This wasn’t a want but a crucial need for the room,” said one of the organizers Michelle McKeaveney. “We also wanted to do this in memory of Mason Gariepy, the boy who Garth Brooks gave his guitar to last fall. Mason acquired his angel-minion wings one month prior to Christmas and we know he was flying around with all the human-minions last Saturday.”

McKeaveney said while they didn’t reach their ultimate goal Saturday night, due to the poor weather that impacted attendance, there is still an opportunity to get there.

“We are offering an opportunity for the people who weren’t able to attend but still might want to help. So, we are hosting a 24-hour online auction of leftover donated items from the party,” she said.
