Dec 14, 2017 | 4:00 PM

The Prince Albert Police Service is investigating an incident in which an elderly woman was robbed in broad daylight in the Cornerstone Shopping District.

The incident happened Tuesday afternoon after 2 p.m. near the OshKosh B’gosh store.

Alanna Adamko, Communications Strategist with the Prince Albert Police Service, said the elderly woman was exiting her vehicle when she was approached by another woman who lunged for her purse.

A brief struggle took place but the suspect made off with the woman’s bag and fled the scene in a vehicle.

Police have provided a description of the suspect. She is described as 5’8″, approximately 150 lbs, around 45 years old and was wearing a down felt jacket with a felt scarf.

Adamko said the suspect was also seen with a knife at the time of the incident but it was not used to threaten the elderly woman.

Adamko would not disclose how much money was taken, but said it was “substantial.”

Anyone with information about this incident is encouraged to contact Prince Albert Police or Crime Stoppers.
