CALGARY — A three-week jury trial for a man accused of killing a Calgary woman and her five-year-old daughter is scheduled to begin in November 2018.

Edward Downey is pleading not guilty to two counts of first-degree murder in the deaths of Sara Baillie and her daughter Taliyah Marsman last summer.

The Crown is also expecting a two-week hearing before the Nov. 26, 2018 trial to go over evidentiary matters without a jury.

Baillie, who was 34, was found dead in her northwest Calgary home on July 11, but Taliyah was missing and an Amber Alert was issued.
